POWERFUL RESTART WITH NEW HUMANS | HUR DET BLEV EN "ESTHER"

POWERFUL RESTART WITH NEW HUMANS
Lars Svensson and Magnus Haferbier met first time 1984, as new members in Kalmar Sportscar Club. Their aim was to compete in racing with their sport-cars and try to reach the limit of performance for both car and their own knowledge. 1987 after a few years of local competing on Club level the both of them decidedto get in real racing Road sport and got their FIA-license. Soon it was shown, their cars was not fast enough. The time was in to start project Esther.
A well known shingle wood board jig who had been used for earlier 7-Copies in the Kalmar area were dusted off. The first attempt making a chassie was approved, but new ideas has made it out of date. It was sold before it become a complete car to someone in Linköping. On the way home from delivery we saw a Triumph Herald in a garden. Something for up coming projects?
We bought it as it stood. Now we had parts for the new project, so far it was only in our minds, so we need to come home and prepare the building. In July 1988 it was time to get it inspected. One small mistake has been done. In all the hurry we had forgotten to do the 1:st construction inspection from SFRO.
The inspection went very well, only ten or so minor remarks were put down. We needed to treat them before we would be able to get the inspection for registration number. At that time we informed him that we would be doing this the next day, the inspector smiled an gave us his best wishes. Now we need to show "Småländsk" wiry, the diligence bulb lit the whole night. 5 a clock in the morning we where ready, a few hours later the first Esther drove out of the inspection locality ready to use on the road.
Since the start 1988 it has been produced some 45 chassis, the great publicpresentation of Esther was in an article. Teknikens Värld and in a local TV-production wich was followed by a national TV-production 1999 named Trafikmagasinet.
