Today there are Esther Cars with 7 different types of engines: Ford, Opel, Volvo, AlfaRomeo and VW. De-Dijon or live rear axles. Different types of 4 and 5 speed gear boxes.
Nearly every winter up to 5 rolling chassis are made, the customer needs to arrange components like wishbone and rear axle., after making a deal with "Esther Chassieteknik". We can also support with shock absorber and springs from AVO in UK.
You can if you want to just order the chassie and make wheel suspension, bonding points and be your own master.
Except the chassie you will be needing a lot of different parts, this is were your own imagination and wallet sets the limit. Sometimes to get inspiration you need to visit a car breaker and look how "big" normal Car manufacturers has assembled steering gear, breaks and so on. You need to be aware of it is a extremely small and limited space area of distribution for your components. Via the Internet you may find a lot of information and others who is building their own car.

Money! It is not cheap to build a competitive car. In Sweden we have to pay following charges: SFRO-inspection 3000:- , Noise-test each occasion is 700:-, Environmental-charge 7000:- Scrap-charge 1500:- and a Registration fee 3000:-.
Before starting the project.
1. Buy SFRO handbook and read how to make an amateur registrerd vehicle. (http://members.tripod.com). Contact the inspector in your area.
2. Make some small questions to yourself: What purpose am I building it for? , Racing?, cruise in town? Or is it just a boy dream?
3. Contact someone with experience of amateur registration vehicles.
Be prepared, sooner or later you will end up in some difficulties so you won't be standing feeble with a "" iron bedstead" that you don't want to be acquainted with.
